Software Developer (m/f/d)
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to innovate contactless biometric 3D scanning technology that has the potential to shape the future.
Your profile:
- Experience: Many years of experience as a software developer, preferably at the senior expert level.
- Technical knowledge:
- Extensive experience in the languages C++, C#, C, Python and Java.
- In-depth knowledge of working with Qt (for UI development), Git (version control), Jira (task planning) and Confluence (documentation and specifications).
- In-depth knowledge of client-server architectures, API development and UI frameworks.
- Experience in optimising code, using and maintaining test frameworks, working with Jenkins and using CUDA for performance enhancements.
- Additional knowledge: Familiarity with development for Windows and Linux, embedded systems, Android and mobile platforms, including cross-platform development.

Language skills: Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory.
- Soft skills: Strong team skills, personal responsibility and problem-solving skills, as well as a proactive attitude in sharing knowledge and team culture.

Working style: Organized and flexible in a dynamic start-up environment.
Your tasks:
- Design, development, optimisation and testing of maintainable and high-performance software solutions in C++, C#, C, Python and Java.
- Supporting the team as a mentor and technical expert who sets professional standards, promotes best practices and assists other developers in specific projects.
- Developing and implementing UI and evaluation frameworks, as well as maintaining and creating concepts for client-server architectures, including API development.
- Developing and maintaining custom tools to support manufacturing processes and transferring research projects into products suitable for series production.
- Collaborating on contract development, from algorithm and user interface projects to data analysis and metrics creation, to the design and implementation of machine learning projects.
- Optimising code for speed and readability, including working with CUDA and other performance frameworks.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation to secure knowledge and make processes transparent.
- Deploying and extending test frameworks, as well as working in Linux and embedded environments and on mobile platforms (Android).

Master Student (m/f/d) "Light-matter-interaction in the context of structured light 3D scanning of skin tissue surfaces"

What are the skills and professional experience we’re expecting from you?
- A successfully completed Bachelor degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences or engineering
- Experience with ray tracing programs like Blender
- Programming experience in Python
- Experience in (image) data processing
As a Master Student (m, f, d), what are you going to do?
- Build 3D models of human skin tissues with parametrizable optical and structural properties
- Simulate the effects of subs-surface light scattering, multiple reflections and absorption on the accuracy of structured-light-based 3D scanners
